The DHV-20B Heat Recovery Ventilation Unit (HRVU) by Boulder Developments is designed for use with Heat Recovery Ventilation systems (HRV or MHRV): a highly efficient way to simultaneously supply clean, fresh air to your home whilst extracting moisture and pollutants. Available in a kit, or just on its own, the HRVU operates at 90% efficiency and minimises energy usage, saving on bills through the use of internal and external temperature differences.

The DHV-20B can be operated at three fan speeds (150m3h, 175m3h and 200m3h) using the included controller, and can be supplied on its own or with a complete kit for 2-10 rooms. The system contains a high quality aluminium heat exchanger and kits are complete with high quality, insulated acoustic ducting, 100mm mushroom valves, stylish external wall grilles, fasteners and tee joints/connectors where necessary.

Heat Exchanger

Aluminium Heat Exchanger

High quality aluminium heat exchanger, transfers heat to the incoming air supply with an efficiency of 90%. This may however create some condensation due to the temperature difference between the incoming and out going air. As such these units come with a built in condensate tray that needs to be connected to a condensation drain

HRVU Guide

Heat Recovery Ventilation (also known as HRV, or mechanical MHVR) is an energy recovery system whereby a household or room is provided with fresh air from outside. Stale air from inside is exhausted after the heat from it has been transferred to the fresh incoming air via a heat exchanger.

As buildings are made efficient they are intentionally made more air tight, and consequently they are less well ventilated. Trickle vents or simply opening a window provide fresh air, but unfortunately heat will be lost in the winter and gained in the summer. HRV systems provide a household with climate control and promote energy efficiency!

This is an example of an installation with one inlet or outlet per room. With this set up, you would extract from your wet rooms (kitchen, bathrooms)& push into your dry rooms (Living rooms, bedrooms). This is an example of an installation with two inlets / outlets per room. With this set up, you would extract and push into each room. Normally the fresh air vent would be placed as far away from the door as possible.
